Course Description

This focused CPR course ensures your staff can respond quickly and effectively to life-threatening cardiac emergencies. The unit covers current ARC CPR guidelines, including adult and infant CPR techniques, safe use of AEDs, and effective emergency communication while awaiting medical assistance.

It is well suited to organisations wanting regular CPR refreshers to maintain compliance and confidence across their workforce.

Compliance – National Law Section 162A

Queensland’s protocol requires nominated supervisors, persons in day-to-day charge, and family day care coordinators to complete an approved child protection unit. Accepted units include CHCPRT025 (current), CHCPRT001, CHCPRT026, CHCPRT002 (superseded), or CHCECE057. Training must be delivered by an RTO.

Learning Outcomes

Staff will learn to:

Recognise signs of cardiac arrest and unresponsiveness
Perform effective CPR on adults and infants in line with ARC guidelines
Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and accurately
Follow workplace emergency procedures and hand over to emergency services
Document and report CPR incidents in accordance with organisational protocols

Entry Requirements

No formal academic entry requirements
Suitable for staff with an interest in learning or refreshing CPR skills
All participants must complete Queensford’s LLND skills assessment and online component before attending the workshop
Physical capacity to kneel and perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult and infant manikins
